Mail.app icon replacement
Okay, I was annoyed by the original Mail.app icon. I think it is more like a photo than an icon. And I didn’t like the eagle either. So I opened Photoshop and made a quick replacement – still in beta, so give me feedback if you want.
Download here.
Rename it as app.icns and put it into Macintosh HD > applications > Mail.app > Contents > Resources to replace the icon file. Restart Mail.app and you’re done (maybe you need to re-drag the Mail.app icon into you Dock).
I don’t vote for conservatives – or: Why voting for conservatives is stupid
On September, 29th is Bundestagswahl (German federal election of parlimament) in Germany. And this time I want to be clear: Voting for conservatives (CDU) is stupid! This is not polemic or something like that. The reasons are simple:
- I fucking want a democratic state with basic and civil rights: The conservatives want to mix up the authority and permissions of the Constitution Protection and the police – just like in the Nazi-Gestapo. They want finger prints on passports for everyone – just like we were criminals, they want a total video surveillance, the online search for the police, armed forces within the country and many many other anticonstitutional things – just like in Nazi-Germany or the GDR.
- I fucking want a livable world for all upcoming generations. A nature which is not dangerous and poisonous. The conservatives want to leave insecure nuclear power stations running and they want to build new stations. They throw the atomic waste into insecure final depots and endanger the lifes of millions of people.
- I fucking want peace. The conservatives fight a war in Afghanistan with German soldiers. They kill people and they endanger the life of ourselves because they provoke militant forces to fight back like at 9/11. Of course I want that the people in the Near East get help from us, but we have to stay defensive.
- I fucking want the internet being the internet. The internet is not just a medium like radio or TV. It is a part of life, a part of creating life. You can create culture. The conservatives want restrictive laws to build something like a soap-internet, free of dissents and they want to censor the internet.
